Senior 2012: D'Naysia

I have the pleasure of introducing my friend D'Naysia. I have known D'Naysia for a few years now; however it was not until this past year that I have really gotten to know D'Naysia. She is one of the most fun loving girls that I know at the Lift. Although she puts on a tough exterior I have been blessed to see her beauty and I hope everyone else in this world would be given that opportunity.

D'Naysia - you are an amazing woman and I have truly missed seeing you at the Lift these past couple weeks. I cannot wait to see what lies in your future.

Enjoy!

This image is one of my favorites... It is just her being her.

Senior: Introducing Shayla

I have known Shayla since she was a Sophomore.  Every year this young lady never ceases to amaze me. I started volunteering at an organization called The Lift which is a teen group here on the East Side of St. Paul.  Originally my small group signed up to volunteer every other week for a year; however after meeting these wonderful, amazing and beautiful young ladies I was hooked.  I have since started volunteering every week and have been volunteering now for 3 years.... Wow I just realized I have been there 3 years.  I have had so much fun getting to know these ladies (Armani, Shayla, and some more ladies that I will post soon I promise :).

Anyway - back to Shayla.  Now I feel the best way to explain the kind of woman Shayla is, is to tell you a quick story.  Last year around my birthday I was pretty pregnant and Josh and I had started baby classes so I was missing the Lift nights.  So Shayla, Armani and myself decided we needed to see each other so we scheduled a breakfast.  Some how Shayla and Armani remembered that is was around my birthday and decided they were taking me out for breakfast.... REALLY?  I am embarrassed to say that I don't even remember my husband's birthday, let alone Shayla or Armani's birthdays unless they remind me.  However these girls humbled me yet again when they remembered my birthday AND insisted on getting our breakfast.

I am truly thankful for knowing you Shayla and for the opportunity to call you friend.  I cannot wait to see what God has in store for you and your future.
